Menhirs are stone monoliths planted in the ground that date back to the Neolithic period. Scattered throughout Europe, Africa and Asia, we can admire around 1,000 of them on Sardinian territory.
There are a multitude of fascinating hypotheses about their function. Some scholars believe they had the function of guardians of sacred and tomb areas, others think they represented the ancestors themselves or marked their graves, others believe they had the function of marking time and marking equinoxes and solstices, while some others attribute them the role of energy columns for the transfer of energy between Heaven and Earth. Whatever their function, it is certain that these ancestral stone monuments emanate a powerful positive energy.
